Refrigerator/Freezer Cleanup

I’m in the process of spring cleaning my kitchen, tackling one task at a time. Today, I took care of the refrigerator and freezer, which is probably the least messy area of the room. It helps that the unit has only accumulated 8 months of grossness since we moved to this house.

So, to begin, I emptied the fridge. This wasn’t as laborious as it sounds, since I really don’t have that much in my fridge. My produce draws are full, as well as my condiment shelves on the door, but otherwise leftovers and drinks are all that take up space. I wiped down the shelves, cleaned out the old leftovers, then put everything back a little more orderly.

The freezer was a little more work; but since the shelves are wire, I didn’t have to do as much scrubbing. I just have a lot more stuff in there!

Here is the finished result. The fridge is practically empty, but the freezer is much better organized. At the top, I have produce, then my containers of broth/coconut milk/tomato sauce/etc., casseroles and soups, then finally my flours and Stu’s snacks. At the bottom I keep my frozen bread and baked goods.
